Beginners Pattern Cutting
Tuesday 13th July – Tuesday 3rd August
6.15 p.m – 8.30 p.m
Maximum of 4 students per class
All materials and equipment are provided.
Ever wondered how patterns are made or wanted to make your own but don’t know how?
This pattern cutting course will introduce you to the method of flat pattern cutting to create a ‘block’
pattern. Starting with the skirt block (or another simple garment if agreed in advance), you will draft
the block and make a calico toile (mock up).
There will also be demonstrations on how the block pattern can be adapted for your own
ideas. The block pattern can be made to your own measurements, or a standard measurement
e.g size 12. If you would like to make patterns for someone else, this is possible but please discuss in advance as you will need to ensure you bring the correct measurements to the first session.
You can view all the courses held in The Sewing Room and sign up to the mailing list here.
