Art for me has always been an escape. It helps me to get out of my anxious head and lay down, in a flippant fashion, the things that bother me. I do this through my movement while painting or creating illustrative cartoons that poke fun at modern life.
As someone from a graffiti background i try to take what i have learnt from that part of my life and apply them to my paintings, through the painting materials and styles i use. in the painting aspect of my work I do not use specific forms from graffiti or otherwise as i try to get away from pictorial art. instead I want to showcase colour and shape and difference of line. from my illustration practice I try to incorporate a satirical view of conspiracy theories as a way to look at our world through a comic lens. a mantra of mine being “if you don’t laugh, you cry”
